With right tackle Lane Johnson facing a four game suspension, the Eagles leave themselves exposed on the right side of the offensive line.
Johnson’s replacement is expected to be journeyman tackle Allen Barbre, who showed competence last season in the wake of Jason Peters’ injury against the Green Bay Packers. However, opposing defensive players should be licking their chops to take advantage of Johnson’s absence.
Here is a week-by-week list of opposing players the Eagles face in their first four games that could potentially “wreck” the game for the birds.
Week 1 vs. Jaguars
Chris Clemons, defensive end – Clemons, the former Eagle and Seahawk, is a free agent acquisition for the Jaguars and is expected to line up in place of another ex-Eagle in Jason Babin.
Clemons forced one fumble last season for Seattle, and also notched 4.5 sacks in 14 games. He isn’t exactly a game-changing player, but does possess the ability to be impactful if given the opportunity.
