You can say alot of things about New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan, but you can’t say that he lacks in confidence.
As recently as 2011 Ryan made waves when he predicted that his team would win the Super bowl. He has since backed off that comment and told fellow swagger monkey Bart Hubbuch of the New York Post that he regretted saying it:
Now though it appears that Rex might be back to his old tricks. Speaking with Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News over the weekend he gave a glowing review of himself:
“Do I think that I’m a great coach? I absolutely know I’m a great coach…”
Ryan added that part of what makes him a great coach is his staff and the other people around him, and he further elaborated that he wasn’t the greatest ever or anything crazy like that:
“I’m not saying that I’m the best or whatever… or the best of all time, I just know that I’m the best that I can be.”
He also told Mehta that he’s confident the Jets will be a playoff team in 2014. Maybe when he’s done with his coaching career he’ll have a future as a motivational speaker?
