Tennessee Titans quarterback sucker-punched In Nashville

Zach Mettenberger had his fair share of trouble in college. When he was drafted in the city round of the NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans, he promised those times were behind him.

As the reserve quarterback attempts to stay out of trouble, those negative instances still seem to find him.

Via Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean:

“Here’s the truth: The guy said something about ‘Roll Tide!’ to Zach, and Zach turned around and said ‘Good luck with that,’ ” owner of the bar, Steve Ford said. “And the guy’s buddy then sucker-punched Zach.

“I promise you that Mettenberger did not throw a punch. He didn’t do anything. The guy sucker-punched him in the eye, that’s the bottom line, and the guy that punched him started running out the door. My door guys had to chase him down.”

The Titans report July 25, and Mettenberger looks to battle for the No. 2 spot behind Jake Locker.
