The Philadelphia Eagles are doing everything they can to upgrade a pass defense that gave up far too many big plays last season. This next story is not going to help things any.
According to a report by KTAR in Arizona Eagles safety Keelan Johnson got into an altercation over the weekend outside a bar in Tempe:
“Court documents said Keelan Johnson was standing in front of Zuma Grill just after 2 a.m. after an acquaintance was involved in a bar fight. Johnson was allegedly shouting over officers, who were detaining the acquaintance. Johnson was told to step back multiple times and was given a “directional contact” to the chest. Johnson then allegedly shoved an officer. A brief scuffle followed, in which Johnson refused to lower his arms for arrest…”
The report eleborated that Johnson felt the police officer had no right to “order him around.”
Classic drunk behavior.
Johnson is from Tempe originally – the Miami Dolphins signed him as an undrafted free agent prior to the 2013 season and later cut him. He played in two games with the Eagles last year, and racked up a total of one tackle.
Alright so this won’t exactly break the secondary’s back. I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself but I think it’s fair to say that Johnson’s career as an Eagle is over. On Sunday night Johnson sent out a cryptic tweet:
Sometimes you need to sacrifice something that matters to you to offer something that matters more to someone else

This fan’s response wins the internet for the day:
@3hree8ight like not assaulting a police officer…
