Pat Angerer spent his first four seasons in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts before becoming a free agent this past March. He finished the 2013 season on IR, and has had a history of injuries, forcing the Colts to not bring him back.
The Atlanta Falcons are in need of depth at linebacker after losing Sean Weatherspoon for the year with an Achilles injury.
Today, the Falcons singed Angerer to a one year deal, essentially a try out year. If Angerer can stay healthy, then a long-term deal with either the Falcons, or another team could arise next year during free agency.
NFL insider Ian Rapoport first reported the deal.
