11 months ago Indianapolis Colts running back Vick Ballard tore his ACL, forcing him to miss most of the season.
Wednesday he was cleared for full participation in training camp, but the good news for the former starter has taken a turn for the worse.
Ballard appeared to hurt his ankle during a drill this afternoon at Anderson University, and was carted off the field. Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Star first reported the story.
#colts RB Vick Ballard carted off field. Appeared to be ankle injury

Ballard was not able to put any wright on his left ankle.
The Colts were looking to have Ballard at 100 percent to provide depth behind Trent Richardson. If Ballard’s injury is serious, it will put more pressure on Richardson to live up to his hype. The talent is there for him to succeed, but losing Ballard for a significant amount of time will hurt the Colts.
We are waiting to hear more on the severity of the injury, and will update you when Pagano speaks to the media after practice today.
UPDATE (6:30 p.m.) : Some potentially very bad news has come in on the injury.

Regarding Vick Ballard, still hasn't undergone MRI, but initial diagnosis is indeed Achilles, as @mortreport stated. The scan will confirm

If confirmed, this would likely end Ballard’s season before it even had a chance to begin. More as we get it.
