2 Philadelphia Eagles Pro Bowlers fight at training camp

A fight broke out today during practice at Philadelphia Eagles training camp between two Pro Bowlers, running back LeSean McCoy and linebacker Trent Cole. Here’s how it went down.

During a seven on seven drill between the first team squads, McCoy and Cole got tangled up in a pile alone the sideline. According to Geoff Mosher of CSNPhilly.com, once McCoy got to his feet he started yelling at Cole:

An irate McCoy emerged from the funnel of Eagles, still jawing at a gone-bonkers Cole. On a heat and steamy day, tempers flared early, injecting some extra juice on Day 2 of Eagles training camp.”

Later, Cole downplayed the fracas and claimed not to know what reporters were even talking about when he was asked about it.

McCoy on the other hand sounded like he was still pissed off:

LeSean McCoy

The whole camp so far, it’s been touching a little too much… I’m trying to let them know, it’s OK if you can’t cover me.”

Defenses are typically at a disadvantage during training camp as they aren’t allowed to be as physical as they normally would be with ball carriers. That can be extra frustrating when you’re trying to bring down a player as elusive as McCoy, who also got into a jawing match with linebacker Connor Barwin on Saturday.

So how I’m understanding this is we have a running back with talent who is young acting like a mouthy jerk to his own team because he is doing good? I hope he cools out soon.
