The Indianapolis Colts released running back Chris Rainey this morning, leaving them short another running back for the 2014 season. However, this time it was for conduct violation, not performance base.

Rainey has stated below that when returning punts and kickoffs he was the man the could make you miss. At the beginning of camp, Chuck Pagano had praised the third year running back for his hard work, and what he could bring to the Colts team. Now he will have to find his third team in as many years.
Rainey had been on a short leash since his arrest in January of 2013 for slapping his girlfriend in the face. He was charged with a misdemeanor charge of simple battery.
He appeared in two games for the Colts in 2013, and only saw time in the return game. He was placed on IR in December.
More information to come when we know exactly why Rainey was released.
