Quotable Monday: Randall Cobb hasn’t “done enough”

The Packers have been in the news quite a bit the first few days of training camp, and they’ve been able to do it without a Johnny Manziel on their team. Instead it’s been the top two receivers that have made headlines. One for becoming one of the highest paid wide receivers in the league. The other? Well, he doesn’t think he’s done enough.

Randall Cobb was asked about himself being the next recipient of a contract extension in Green Bay, and he said “I don’t believe I’ve done enough, and I think that’s on me.”

Unbelievable as it may sound, yes it is true. A NFL wide receiver has said he doesn’t deserve to be paid. Of course much of Randall Cobb having not done enough is due to an injury that was out of his control. Last season against the Ravens he was hit low by safety Matt Elam, breaking Cobb’s Tibia and causing him to miss 10 games.

Before the injury, Cobb was on pace for over 90 catches and over 1,200 yards receiving, if he stays healthy and duplicates that production this year I think he’ll change his mind about his worth to the franchise.
