New York Giants rookie wideout Odell Beckham Jr. missed most of the first week of training camp, and it was beginning to upset head coach Tom Coughlin. But the 12th overall pick revealed to reporters that the doctors found blood in his hamstring and, according to the Newark Star-Ledger, will be out for the next week.
Beckham had originally hurt his hamstring during OTAs but apparently aggravated the injury last Tuesday. Coughlin had voiced his frustration over the weekend, so Beckham made the wise move to meet with his new coach and sort things out.
In their meeting, Beckham said he assured Coughlin he would love to be out on the field practicing with his teammates and that “he’s going to push it as much as he can.”
Beckham did field some punts Tuesday, however he will not be playing in Sunday’s Hall of Fame Game against the Buffalo Bills. He does expect to play this preseason.
