Ray Rice returns, gets a huge ovation from Baltimore Ravens fans

Ray Rice might not be the most popular human being in the country right now, but in Baltimore he is still beloved, if yesterday’s practice is any indication.

According to Jamison Hensley of ESPN, when Rice was shown on the video screen at the stadium, the crowd of 28,000 gave him a rousing round of applause.

More than once:

Even the children:

The little children.

Rice has been suspended by the NFL for the first two games of the 2014 season. The punishment was a result of an incident several months ago in which Rice was seen on camera dragging his unconscious fiancee out of an elevator. He had knocked her out after an argument. Many fans feel that the league was far too lenient on Rice.

I for one find it peculiar that if Rice had tested positive for marijuana he would have been suspended twice as long. So either the NFL is way too soft on domestic violence or way too hard on stoners, take your pick.
