VIDEO: Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Jeff Demps turns on the jets

Running back Jeff Demps of the Tampa Bay Buccanners is fast. How fast, you ask? I could tell you that at the 2012 NFL combine his lowest 40 yard dash time was 4.18. Yes you read that right, 4.18 seconds. I could tell you all about his explosive plays at Florida, but I think the best way to explain it is just to show you.

Here’s a video from Bucs training camp that the team uploaded to Vine a couple of days ago:

You can see Demps has to actually hesitate and wait for the ball to catch up to him. After making the catch the defensive back is still a couple of strides behind him.

Demps was essentially red-shirted last year with the New England Patriots and barely saw the field at all. Right now he is listed at third on the depth chart behind Doug Martin and Mike James, but if he keeps making plays like this that could change in a hurry.

  • tha truth is…

Jeff Demps didn’t participate in tha 2012 Draft. 4.18 in tha 40 would be tha fastest time recorded in tha electronically timed era
