Cincinnati Bengals re-activate monster pass rusher Geno Atkins


The most dangerous weapon on the Cincinnati Bengals defense is returning to the field. Yesterday the team announced that it was re-activating defensive tackle Geno Atkins from the PUP (physically unable to perform) list:

On a loaded defensive line, Atkins stands out as the most lethal element. In 2012 he led the team with 12.5 sacks. Last season he sat out seven games while he dealt with a torn ACL suffered in October against the Miami Dolphins.

Without Atkins the Bengals’ defense did an admirable job of holding the fort down, but his return gives a huge boost to Cincinnati’s hopes of finally winning a playoff game.
