When the Atlanta Falcons signed running back Steven Jackson in March of 2013 this can’t be what they had envisioned. After struggling with injuries most of last season it appears that S-Jax has suffered another setback.
According to NFL reporter Jeff Darlington, Jackson pulled his hamstring and was held out of practice yesterday:
Steven Jackson suffered a hamstring injury and was held out of practice today, Falcons' Mike Smith says. He expects him back for Week One.

Later the news was confirmed that it’s Jackson’s left hamstring and he will be out a while. However, head coach Mike Smith promised that he would be ready for Week 1’s matchup against New Orleans.
It’s a nice vote of confidence, but at Jackson’s age after carrying a heavy load for the Rams for so many years you have to wonder if he’s starting to break down.
