Jets WR Eric Decker misses practice with “a little bit of a hamstring”

New York Jets wide receiver Eric Decker missed practice Friday, with tightness in his hamstring. Those are my words — not Rex Ryan’s.

Here’s what Rex did have to say, on Decker missing practice…

“It’s a little bit of a hamstring,” Ryan said. “It’s not like he (Decker) pulled a hamstring. We took care of him.”

Ryan’s right, it’s not like he pulled it. It does sound alarming though, on the surface.

Decker and hamstring — two words Jets fans do not want to hear. But frankly, it’s not a big deal. Like Rex said, they “took care of him,” and he did spend majority of Friday’s practice with the trainers.

If Decker is not out there for the Green and White scrimmage tomorrow, then Jets fans should begin to worry. But as of right now, it seems the Jets are just playing it cautiously, allowing him to sit out practice for his first time as a Jet .

Decker is expected to start tomorrow, in the team’s first game-like atmosphere in 2014.
