Chykie Brown ejected, “Are we going to be a disciplined team or a bullshit one?”

The Ravens, while going through a team scrimmage, had a little lesson in discipline.

After the defense stopped the offense on a short third-down, they made their way off the field.  However, much too slow for the liking of John Harbaugh, who then gave the offense the first down anyway.  It apparently has been a point of emphasis in training camp to have good pace and make the most of the 60 minute games.

The lesson wasn’t over there, as a few plays later, Chykie Brown let what would have been an interception slip through his hands.  Out of frustration, Brown kicked the ball a few yards upfield.  This spurned John Harbaugh to kick Brown off the field, as he again reaffirmed his desire for a professional demeanor.  Reportedly, as Brown was walking off the field, Harbaugh could be heard yelling, “Are we going to be a disciplined team or a bullshit one?”

It was apparently more a lesson than a lashing out at Brown specifically.

In fact, this practice was one of Brown’s better of the whole camp, according to Harbaugh.

And when asked about the event after practice, Brown had this to say.

In all, I don’t hate the passion exhibited. Harbaugh is clearly trying to assert a tight control over the roster, and this appears to be an opportunity he didn’t waste in sending a message.

Brown will look to continue to earn positive grades as he fights for the third cornerback position.
