Green Bay Packers lose offensive lineman for entire 2014 season

The Green Bay Packers boast one of the deepest and most talented offensive units in the NFL. One area they are not so sharp in however is the offensive line. Last season Football Outsiders ranked Green Bay’s line 26th overall in pass protection.

Just imagine what quarterback Aaron Rodgers would be able to do if he had a line like Denver’s… I know, right? Well we’re just going to have to imagine a little bit longer becauseĀ it now appears that Rodgers is going to be scrambling even more this coming season.

According to a report by Dan Hanzus of, right tackle Don Barclay suffered an ACL tear during yesterday’s practice session:

That means that we shouldn’t expect to see Barclay suit up for the Packers any time in 2014. Derek Sherrod is expected to step up and take his place.
