Indianapolis Colts make first cuts after their preseason game

The Indianapolis Colts played their first preseason game Thursday night against the New York Jets.

In a loss the Colts lost another offensive lineman to an injury, starting center Khaled Holmes went down with an ankle injury in the first quarter. To keep depth on the line, the Colts made several roster moves yesterday.

The Colts signed center Thomas Austin, and guard Marcus Hall to add depth along the offensive line. Austin has played in eight career games, and has spent time with the Colts, Houston Texans, and the Caroline Panthers. Hall however is an undrafted rookie free agent, whom was signed earlierĀ in the summer by the Colts, but later released.

The Colts also resigned Nu’Keese Richardson, a receiver that had released earlier in the week.

The Colts waived Chad Anderson, Daniel Adongo, and Jeris Pendleton, They also waived Brandon Burtin after making an injury settlement with him.

Adongo was a former rugby player whom the Colts had singed last summer. He saw action in two games last season, but could never seem to catch onto the game.

More cuts will come later in camp as the team prepared to get the roster down to the final 53 players.
