The St. Louis Rams selected wide receiver Stedman Bailey, in the 2013 NFL draft with the 92nd overall pick in the third round. Bailey, out of West Virginia, has been overlooked much in part due to the fact he came out of the same school Tavon Austin did. It also didn’t help that they were drafted the same year, to the same team. With that being said, Bailey is really starting to make a name for himself around St. Louis.
Unfortunately, he made the wrong kind of news early this year when he was suspended by the NFL for the first four games of the season for violating the league’s policy on performance enhancing drugs. This was a huge blow to the Rams offense because I believe that Coach Fisher had Bailey penciled in for a big role in this years offense. This can very well still happen, but it wont have a chance until week 6 after the suspension and a bye week.
Stedman Bailey has all the tools to be a huge asset to this receiving core and even special teams. He shined at times last year making huge tackles game after game on special teams. This year I expect to see a breakout type season for the young receiver. I believe he has the best hands on the team, which is so important due to the recent history of drops with our current receivers. Look for number 12 in week 6, and don’t be surprised to see him with a huge role in the offense.
