I wrote this earlier this offseason, but the third-down running back spot is one of the best battles of training camp. We all know that Alfred Morris is the top dog, but he’s not a pass catcher by any means. That job’s up for grabs, and it’s going to be very important. In a passing offense like this, a receiving threat out of the backfield could prove invaluable.
Roy Helu has been the odds-on favorite, but Lache Seastrunk may have leapt up to the top with an outstanding performance this weekend (12 carries for 63 yards). Keep your eye on this one for the rest of training camp. It could get real interesting.
