Last Friday’s performance under center wasn’t pretty in any way, shape or form and turned out to be a disappointment for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
At this point, the team has made it clear that they believe Mike Brewster can still be the guy to start the 2014 season. In the current depth chart, Brewster is penciled in as the start with 2014 sixth-round draft pick Luke Bowanko as the back-up.
Unfortunately, for the third-stringer Matt Stankiewitch, this is the end of his time with the Jaguars.

Taking Stankiewitch’s place on the roster former Crimson Tide offensive guard and center Antoine Caldwell who was a third-round selection in 2009 by the Houston Texans who he played for until 2012. In 2013, he spent mini-camp with the Buffalo Bills but didn’t make the final roster.
Just a few months ago, Caldwell attended the Jaguars rookie mini-camp on a tryout basis and, although he wasn’t offered a contract, he obviously did enough to earn one now.
It will be interesting to see where he starts off with the Jaguars, will it be with the third-string offense where Stankiewitch was or will he be bumped up in front of Bowanko and Brewster. All eyes will be on the center position tomorrow night when the Jaguars take on the Bears in primetime Thursday Night Football.
