Jake Long will not play this week’s preseason game

Projecting starting left tackle Jake Long has recovered pretty quickly from his torn ACL and MCL back in December. In just under eight months, Long has gotten himself rehabilitated and back on the practice field.

The only step he has still has to hurdle is getting some game action under his belt. It does not appear that final hurdle will be cleared this Saturday as the Rams take on the Green Bay Packers in their second preseason game.

This isn’t exactly a surprise, but it would be nice if the Rams could get their projected starting five offensive line (Long, Greg Robinson, Scott Wells, Rodger Saffold, Joe Barksdale) on the field for at least a few series before the season starts. Looks like we’ll have to wait at least another week though.
