New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton unamused by Jimmy Graham's dunking

When the NFL promised several months ago to crack down on goal post dunking, New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham vowed that he would continue to enjoy his favorite post-touchdown celebration.

Last night in a preseason game against the Tennessee Titans he followed through.

Graham caught two touchdown passes in the first half from Luke McCown, and promptly dunked the ball over the goal post both times. He was flagged for unsportsman like conduct on both occasions.

After the second one head coach Sean Payton had seen enough, and he lit into Graham on the sidelines.

Payton was livid with his team for accruing 22 penalties total in the game, worth 184 yards:

“Obviously, that was painful to watch,” Payton said. “It’s the first sign of a team that has no discipline, and that’s the first sign of poor coaching. … I’m very upset.”

Graham’s teammates were supportive of his dunking, but I have a feeling he won’t try it again for a while after the scolding he got.
