The Green Bay Packers already have a wealth of talented wide receivers, and it looks like the rich just keep on getting richer. Yesterday the Packers visited the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis to take on the Rams in an exhibition game, and we got a good glimpse at what rookie wide receiver Jeff Janis can do.
In this highlight clip from the third quarter, Janis catches a nice pass from Matt Flynn on a crossing route and takes it all the way to the end zone:
After the game his play earned high praise from both head coach Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers, who had this to say:
“He’s athletic. He’s fast. He ran his route, caught a ball and outran everybody today. When you’re playing against the first string, you have to run crisp routes and make the plays that are there, so plays like today help him out confidence-wise for sure.”
Janis ran a 4.42 40 yard dash at the NFL combine this year – only three receivers had a better mark.
