Michael Floyd to make preseason debut and more

The Arizona offense has been zipping down the field in the preseason, piling up 60 points in two games. Now it gets wide receiver Michael Floyd on the field for the first time in the preseason. Floyd has battled a groin injury that has kept him out of game action against Houston and Minnesota.

Watch how the Arizona offense functions with him on the field and see how defenses have to roll their coverage to account for him. It should look very different out there and see who the defense leaves in single coverage.

Running back Andre Ellington is expected to see more playing time this week against the Bengals. He has 12 yards on four carries in the preseason. Arizona running backs have failed to impress as an overall unit as they have less than 2.5 yards per carry this preseason.

Arizona has been searching for veteran help on the defensive line after Dockett’s knee injury. They brought in Brett Keisel but he chose to sign with the Steelers to stay closer to his family. Isaac Sopoaga was also brought in and Arizona might sign him. Frostee Rucker could be in line for the starting spot with rookie Kareem Martin in the mix.

Quotable: On Monday, Cardinals general manager Steve Keim said the team’s running backs are “not showing the ability to have explosive runs” thus far.

Well, it sounds like each running back will get a pile of Taco Bell bean burritos 45 minutes prior to kickoff and a portapotty will be placed in each end zone. That should get some explosive runs going out of the running backs.

Tyrann Mathieu thinks he’s an air traffic controller on Twitter.

No! I didn’t want to pay $5 for the headphones and now you’re charging us $10 and we don’t even want them! After Dockett went down hurt, it seems like plenty of Cardinal fans could use a couple free drink vouchers.

kEIM IS QUESTIONING THE RUNNING BACKS. Not sure if Jim Brown could gain yards with how the O-Line looks. Other than Ellington we do not have explosive backs. That is not what they are, they are power backs. Not sure what Keim is thinking.
