At one point Tennessee Titans running back Shonn Greene was one of the most highly touted prospects coming into the NFL. His final season at the University of Iowa, he rushed for over 1800 yards and scored 20 touchdowns. He finished sixth in Heisman voting for the season and first among running backs.
Since then he has never quite lived up to that potential, but he did have a couple of 1,000+ rushing yard seasons for the New York Jets.
Now he’s competing with rookie Bishop Sankey for the right to be the Titans’ workhorse running back. Who will win out? It’s still too early to tell, but yesterday just happened to be Shonn Greene’s 29th birthday, so we’re going to celebrate.
Here is a trippy highlight reel of Greene’s best plays with the Hawkeyes:
Last week against the Saints Greene led the Titans with 46 rushing yards and he scored a touchdown against the Packers.
