On Friday night Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh made yet another dirty hit on a quarterback. This time the victim was Chad Henne of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Here’s a clip of the play, which shows Suh driving through Henne’s chest with his helmet after he releases the ball:
Suh was flagged by the officials for roughing the passer. C.J. Mosely was supportive, but head coach Jim Caldwell called it a clear foul:
“That’s what he called, OK, and that’s what the official called and that’s what it is. It’s a foul, plain and simple.”
Henne is just the latest in a long line of NFL quarterbacks who have been taken out by unnecessary hits by Suh. Jay Cutler, Brandon Weeden, Jake Delhomme, and Andy Dalton have also felt his sting.
No fine has been handed down by the league at this time, but Suh should not be surprised if he gets a Fedex delivery in the coming days.
