Chicago Bears release Craig Steltz

The Bears have decided to part ways with veteran safety Craig Steltz.

Steltz was drafted by the Bears in the fourth-round of the 2008 NFL Draft and spent his entire six-year career in Chicago. Steltz racked up 73 tackles in 77 games mostly as a contributor on special teams. He did start eight games in his career.

The team has been working towards getting to tomorrow’s mandatory 75-man roster. The Bears then have until early Saturday evening to get down to the final 53-man roster.
