If you listened to last night’s Sunday Night Football broadcast of the Cincinnati Bengals vs. Arizona Cardinals game on NBC you probably heard Chris Collinsworth say that this is the hardest time of the year for NFL coaches. He wasn’t referring to injuries or the preseason schedule; he was talking about roster cuts and how difficult it is to make those decisions.
By 4:00 eastern time tomorrow each NFL team must cut their rosters from 90 players down to 75, but today the Kansas City Chiefs got a head start and announced that 12 players have been released.

The Chiefs also placed safety Sanders Commings on injured reserve.
As you can see, the Chiefs still have to shed a few more players by tomorrow afternoon, and they have until Saturday to get the roster down to 53.
