The Washington Redskins make their first round of cuts

The Redskins first round of cuts came in yesterday, headlined by veteran linebacker Rob Jackson.

Jackson has spent much of his career with Washington backing up Brian Orakpo, but the emergence of Adrian Robinson and Gabe Miller, along with the addition of Everette Brown, had put Jackson on the bubble early in camp.

A seventh-round draft pick, Jackson was the final member of the Redskins’ 2008 draft class on the roster. The only other player that’s still in the NFL is Chad Rinehart, who’s currently in San Diego.

The Redskins also cut FB Stephen Campbell, WR Cody Hoffman, WR Rashad Lawrence, S Ross Madison, LB Jeremy Kimbrough, DE Jeremy Towns, LB Adrian Robinson and DE Jake McDonough.
