As the season nears, which Baltimore Ravens should be fantasy targets?

With the first taste of real football just under two weeks away, let’s take a look at some of the “studs” on the Ravens who could come in handy for your fantasy football team.

1. Torrey Smith

Mark my words: Torrey Smith will be the best fantasy player on the Ravens this year. Smith has improved his statistics every year since coming into the NFL, and with a revamped offense from Gary Kubiak and former Panther Steve Smith Sr. coming into the mix, Smith should only improve on those numbers. Last week I predicted that Smith would post over 1,000 yards and six scores on the season — that’s solid WR2 material.

2. Dennis Pitta

Barring any injuries, Pitta should enjoy his best season yet, especially with Flacco’s revamped offensive line. It’s no surprise that Flacco loves throwing Pitta’s way, as he is a great route runner with reliable hands to boot. In my predictions last week I said Pitta would post around 800 yards complimented by seven touchdowns. Pitta will be a solid TE1 in almost every league and should not disappoint fantasy owners.

3. Joe Flacco

May get some heat for this, but one has to look at Flacco and expect great improvement from last year — and with his supporting cast, it’s not a long shot. Now, we’re not saying Flacco should be your number one quarterback, but are saying he will surprise many this year by putting up his best statistical season yet. As mentioned earlier, the Ravens’ offense is remodeled and rejuvenated with Steve Smith Sr. and Owen Daniels (should he find the field). You heard it here first: Flacco will throw 30 or more scores and will be a solid addition to any fantasy team.
