Kicker Jay Feely was cut yesterday after five season with the Arizona Cardinals. The 13-year veteran begins his search for a new job this morning and he took to Twitter last night to say goodbye to the organization.

Here’s an interesting point of view from Dave Pasch, the Cardinals play-by-play man.

Could Feely be in a broadcast booth soon? We don’t know for sure but it worked out well for another former kicker–Pat Summerall.

Feely’s also well-versed politically so that could be another option for him if he chooses to pursue it.

Feely’s time in Arizona ended due to missed field goals and rookie Chandler Catonzaro gets the job in his place. Hopefully Feely catches on with another team because he was effective for the most part at what he did.

I am not happy about going into the season with an unproven kicker. This is suppose to be our year to go far in the playoffs. He has made several pressure kicks for us in the past and the word is that his leg is stronger this year. I do not understand the move.
