As far as accolades go for professional athletes, making the cover of Sports Illustrated is about as good as it gets. Winning championships and MVPs are all fine and good but getting on the cover of Wheaties or SI means you’ve really arrived.
If that’s true then it looks like Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles is really on his way.
This week Sports Illustrated is featuring several NFC gunslingers on its covers, and Foles got one of the spots. Have a look:
That’s a pretty big deal for a player who at this time last year was an afterthought on a team that was projected to win seven games at best by most experts and miss the playoffs entirely.
I’m not sure who the other guy on the cover is, but he looks like an athlete. It’s probably Michael Phelps or somebody.
