The Cincinnati Bengals will be playing the Washington Redskins in Wembley Stadium Sunday morning at 9:30 am est. This is considered a home game for the Bengals despite the fact that they will be traveling almost 4,000 miles. The Bengals are now 3-4 and are facing 4-3 Redskins team that is playing well. This will be the first time the Bengals have played in London and it is an intriguing matchup.
I am not a huge fan of these London games. Both teams have to travel to far and will have to deal with the time changes and difficult practice schedule. The Bengals are losing a home game in Cincinnati and it comes at crucial time in the season. Cincinnati has had a hard schedule and are looking to get to .500 before their bye week. I feel that the 9:30 am start time on the east coast is a little early but when you considered fans that live on the west coast will have a 6:30 am start time that is ridiculous.
The Bengals are doing something different than other teams that have played on London this year. Most teams have traveled early in the week right after their Sunday game. The Bengals are waiting to travel to London after practicing in Cincinnati for two days. Head coach Marvin Lewis is trying to make this as much as a normal home game as possible. Lewis using some linguistic gymnastics to try and reassure his team that it is a normal week went as far as to say according to Fox Sports that the team wasn’t traveling to London. He said
“We’re not going to London, we’re playing the Redskins and it happens to be in London.”
Not sure the difference but we will go with it Coach Lewis.

Top Waiver Wire Adds::: Who do you need to grab this week?
On the positive side the Bengals are probably the healthiest they have been all season. Tight end Tyler Eifert has practice in full this week after playing limited minutes against the Browns. Conversely, the Redskins are really banged up with 13 players on their injury report. Cornerback Josh Norman and tight end Jordan Reed are both in concussion protocol and might not travel to London. The Bengals are favored by three points and it will be great if the Bengals can get a victory on Sunday before 1 pm.
