First things first; how is everyone’s St. Patrick’s Day going? Hopefully everyone has their thinking caps on while they are downing some corned beef and cabbage; washing it all down with some green adult beverages.

When coming up with trivia questions for our bright readers, many themes come to mind for today’s quiz. Do we go with players that have Irish heritage? Do we go with guys that have worn strictly green jerseys in their NFL careers? Or, do we stick with free agency or the NFL Draft?

The answer is obviously all of the above; making this yet another random Trivia Blitz that is hopefully fun, mixed with a little challenge.

For those of you new to this article — cover32 comes up with five questions for Friday’s question portion. Monday, the answers are then revealed and published with some of the best answers and responses from readers.

Question One

Up until this year’s game in which Tom Brady(a fellow Irishman) broke the record for attempts in a single Super Bowl with 62, the record was 58 held by this Irishman.

1. Who held the record for attempts in a Super Bowl until Brady broke the record this year?

Question Two

This player only wore green his entire career and although he hasn’t played a game since 1945, he is still 11th on the all-time touchdown receptions list.

2. Who currently sits 11th on the all-time touchdown receptions list with a total of 99?

Question Three

With free agency now a staple in the modern NFL, players rarely stick with the same team their entire career. However, this was not always the case; free agency did not technically start until 1947. Until 1947, players had to stay with the same team under the same contract unless they were traded. That all changed in 1962 when this certain player is considered the first NFL player to switch teams without being traded.

3. Who is considered the first free agent to switch teams?

Question Four

As mentioned in the question above, it is rare we see a player stay with the same team their whole career. However, one certain player played for the same team for for 327 games over the span of 21 seasons; both NFL records for playing with the same team.

4. Who holds the NFL records for most seasons and games played with the same team?

Question Five

Ezekiel Elliott emerged as one of the best rookie running backs of all time yet would need 527 more carries to set the record for most touches in the first two seasons of a NFL career.

5. Who holds the NFL record with an astounding 881 touches in their first two seasons?

Finish

We at cover32.com hope all have a safe and happy St.Patrick’s Day! We also hope everyone enjoys this week’s quiz before they get too toasty.
