The Green Bay Packers on Monday joined the little game known as waiver claiming, as they claim defensive end, Ego Ferguson. First reported by ESPN’s Field Yates.

Ferguson has spent his last three seasons on the arch rival Chicago Bears’ roster. However, his production was limited, appearing in only 20 games during that time.

Back in 2014, Ferguson was drafted by Chiacgo in 2nd round, out of LSU.

Chicago had relesed him just three days before the claiming by Green Bay. Now the former Tiger will look to revamp his career on a modest at best defense.

A major concern for the team comes as Ferguson did not play a single down last season. He suffered a shoulder injury before the start of the season.

This is not the first defensive lineman move the Packers have made this offseason. They also have brought on Ricky Jean Francois.

Much like Jean Francois, there no guartnee Ferguson will make the final roster come September.

It was a clear indication the biggest issue last season for Green Bay was the defense. These two moves are not quite what fans were hoping for.

If anything these moves are just insuance if a starter is to go down.

This is no surprise as the team has made less free agents moves than any other front office.

The Green Bay Packers must now draft successfully or they will once again be wasting the talent of one, Aaron Rodgers.
