Bettors be aware, Las Vegas is begging to give their money away. Okay, that might be a bit of a overreach here, but seriously. Setting their lines for the upcoming season, the Westgate Las Vegas Superbook has placed a line of 7.5 wins on the Miami Dolphins this season despite Miami winning ten games just a season ago.
While the book does have some credence to their number here especially the sad start that the Dolphins had at the beginning of the 2016 season. Starting the year with a 1-4 record with the one win being an overtime victory over the Browns, Miami rebounded in the second half of the campaign with many of the wins coming over inferior competition.

This year’s schedule is nowhere near as friendly. Having games against the Falcons, Raiders, Panthers, Buccaneers, Ravens, Broncos, and Chiefs, the Miami Dolphins have an uphill battle for the most part. That said, if the Miami Dolphins managed ten wins last season with the roster that it had, at least nine wins should be par for the course this year.
While the schedule has undoubtedly become tougher from an overall perspective, the team has also improved in many ways. Addressing many of the team’s biggest needs this offseason, including improvement across the defense, the Miami Dolphins look to have a team that will not only make the playoffs but also be able to compete for postseason victories.

Winning the division likely remains outside the grasp of this team with the New England Patriots leading the charge, but making the playoffs seems to be a real possibility. Heck, even if the team doesn’t make the playoffs, it is likely that nine wins remains a goal here.
Anything less than nine would likely be considered a failure. With the line of 7.5 wins though, this looks to be solid money for those that want to bet on the Miami Dolphins.
