There are many different questions that surround the Denver Broncos. Probably the biggest one is who their starting quarterback will be in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers. Another great question is if the Broncos defense can still be known as one of the top ones in the league. Two years’ ago, the Broncos defense carried the team to a Super Bowl victory over the Carolina Panthers. Last season, they weren’t that defense.

The Broncos have the toughest schedule out of every team in the league. Yes, they have one of the best players on the defense in Von Miller, but can he carry the defense? To have a great defense, you need multiple talented and productive players. The Broncos do have players on that defense who are still productive, but they will be challenged by their opponents this season.

AFC Opponents

This season, the Broncos will face the Chiefs, Raiders and Chargers all who are in the AFC West division, which is a tough one to win in. They will also take on opponents like the Bills, Patriots, Dolphins, Jets, Colts and the Bengals. The Bills and Jets will test them, but the Broncos should be able to handle them as long as they don’t underestimate them.

Teams like the Dolphins and the Bengals are on the rise that have talented offenses’. The Broncos can contain them, but one or two mistakes can cost the defense to suffer. The Patriots and Colts both have great quarterbacks in Tom Brady and Andrew Luck who have weapons around them. They rarely make mistakes and can make defenses’ pay the price in a hurry.

With the Broncos being the AFC conference, they will be facing tough conference opponents that are looking to get into the playoffs. The defense will need to step up every week and show that they can do their part and get the offense on the field without having to play from behind.

NFC Opponents

The Broncos will be playing against teams from the NFC East division, so they will be taking on the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Redskins. This division is a physical and tough division to play in or against. Each team made improvements during the offseason and they are looking to battle it out.

The Cowboys and Giants will definitely be the toughest opponents for the Broncos. These two teams could end up winning the division. The Giants have both the offense and defense to make them dangerous and the Cowboys have two of the top rookies from last year in Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott who could cause problems for the Broncos’ defense.

The Eagles and Redskins most likely won’t be the same teams that the Giants and Cowboys are, but they will still challenge the Broncos. They made improvements in the offseason that will benefit them. Both offenses’ play physical and until the whistle blows so the Denver defense needs to be ready and play tough.

What should we expect from the Broncos defense?

This defense will show what they are made of no doubt about it. They also need to be able to shut down the powerful offenses’ that are coming to them. Teams that have a great offense are always a danger to defenses’ but if the Broncos show up and compete for four quarters, they should be able to contain them.
