Redskins training camp opens this Thursday, on the 27th of July. There are many questions that need to be answered. Can Terrelle Pryor and Josh Doctson “fill the shoes” of Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson? Will the height of our tall receivers make a difference in the red zone? Will quarterback Kirk Cousins prove to be elite and belong in the same conversation with Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees? Who will our punt returner be if Jamison Crowder is only used as a receiver? Will our offense have a better ground game and more of a balanced attack this season? Will our offensive line become the “Great Wall of Washington” and deserve the title of HOGS 2.0? How many tight ends, running backs and offensive linemen will the Redskins have after the final cut down date of September 3, 2017?
Will our defense stop the run and get the opposing teams’ offenses off the field on 3rd downs this season? Will they get more sacks? Can they apply more pressure by using disguised, unpredictable blitz packages? Who will be our starting “front seven?” Will the Redskins secondary be known as the “Air Marshals” and get more interceptions and cause more turnovers? Will our defense become one of the top defenses in the NFL? Will the free agents the Redskins added in the off-season be starters or will younger, first and second-year players win the starting jobs? Who will be our starting nose tackle? Will Junior Galette’s legs hold up this season and will he be the pass rusher he was with the New Orleans Saints?
Will our Redskins offense be productive in the red zone? Will our field goal kicker be more accurate? Will the fact that Head Coach Jay Gruden will be calling the offensive plays make a positive impact? How much influence will Assistant Coach Bill Callahan have in game planning? Will Josh Doctson prove to be the great receiver that previous General Manager Scot McCloughan believed him to be when McCloughan drafted him in the 1st round of the 2016 NFL draft? Will he be a hero or a zero?
All these and more questions must be answered before the NFL cut down to 53 players by September 3, 2017, before 4:00 p.m. Let us at Cover32 Redskins know what questions you have about the 2017 Washington Redskins.
