Wisconsin covers a lot of territory, and so do its radio stations. The state abuts enemy territory in the Northwest, where the remaining Vikings fans congregate; in the UP, where the sensible fans follow the Pack and masochists root for the Lions; and near the Illinois border, where refugees and the misguided still long for a return to 1985.
In Northwest Illinois, where I spent my formative years, the dulcet tones of Larry McCarren and Wayne Larrivee were best heard on 101.5 WIBA FM from Madison. I had to be perched high on a hill, but it was always worth it. The Packers Radio Network stretches from Sioux Falls in the West to Sault Ste. Marie in the East, and covers most of the area in between

In addition to Packers games, there are sports talk stations all over the state. ESPN also has a radio network in the state, but they focus less on the Packers and more on inferior teams.
Many of the independent sports talk stations carry The Bill Michaels Show, a statewide radio show broadcast from Milwaukee, and often on location, by Wisconsin’s radio superstar, The Big Unit, Bill Michaels.
Bill will frequently talk Packers, and interviews players and coaches. He also broadcasts on location at the Super Bowl every year.
In the Milwaukee area, former Packers Gary Ellerson and Leroy Butler have an afternoon show (The Wendy’s Big Show) on 1250 AM The Fan.
ESPN Milwaukee has former Packer Mark Tauscher in the morning. From the Mississippi to Lake Michigan, you’re never too far from Packers talk radio.
