The Jacksonville Jaguars are in a great position to show what they are really made of against the Houston Texans, who have been the top dog in the AFC South the last two years. Now the Jags will have their chance to take down the Texans in the first meeting in the first week.
The Texans defense is a physical and brutal defense that has helped the team in recent years. Last year, they were one of the top defenses’ without J.J. Watt. They will be getting Watt back and their defense is looking to keep dominating, so the question is how will Leonard Fournette do in this first match up?

While I believe that Leonard Fournette will do great in his rookie year, he may have a challenge with the Texans defense. Especially with facing across from Watt, Jadeveon Clowney and Brian Cushing, all who are very physical players it will be interesting to see how Fournette performs against them.
Fournette is at a disadvantage because the Jaguars offensive line improved this offseason, they may struggle against the Texans defensive line and it will make Fournette’s day harder than it should be. Then again, with Fournette’s size and speed we could see him have a field day against the defense.
Will Fournette excel or struggle in Week 1?
Based on how the offensive line performs will determine how Fournette does himself. We could see Fournette run wild for over 100 yards or struggle and barely get 50 rushing yards. I can see Fournette doing well in his first game against a tough defense because he just has that much potential and talent to succeed.
Game Prediction: 90 rushing yards and one touchdown.
