For the last couple of days, the Jacksonville Jaguars have been practicing with the New England Patriots in Foxborough, Massachusetts and will be facing them in Gillette Stadium this coming Thursday. Having the Patriots as a first opponent is a great chance for the Jaguars to show that they can compete with the more successful teams. What better way to start out their season, going up against the defending Super Bowl champions?
With the Jaguars having almost a new roster with talent brought in through free agency and the draft, all eyes will be on different players of the Jaguars. With the game in just two days, what are some different factors that fans should lookout for during the game?

1.) Leonard Fournette vs the Pats Defense
The Patriots defense has always been a tough and physical squad that can play mind games against an offense. With rookie running back Leonard Fournette coming in, it will be interesting to see how the LSU powerback reacts against this Patriots defense. Fournette may only play in a couple drives for the Jaguars but he’ll have his chance to make his mark against the Pats defense.
2.) The Jaguars defense vs the Patriots offense
We all know that the Patriots have depth at almost each position on offense. The Jaguars also added depth themselves this offseason on defense. The Jags defense may end up going against Tom Brady, but will see more of Jimmy Garroppolo and Jacoby Brisett. Both of these backups had success last season during Brady’s four game suspension and have another year of experience. The Jaguars defense looks to be dominant, but the Patriots offense will put them to the test.
3.) Is the discipline there?
With a young Jaguars team, a big thing that they will need is discipline. Doug Marrone and Tom Coughlin have had more than enough time to enforce the discipline on their players. If this team can play disciplined football, they will be able to compete with the Patriots and show us football fans that they mean business. If they don’t make mental errors and can stay focused, this Jaguars team will be dangerous.
