Twenty-year-old Raekwon McMillan was injured early in Thursday’s Preseason opener. McMillan was the Dolphins’ second-round draft pick in the 2017 draft.
Running down the field during a Miami punt, McMillan collided with a teammate, bending his knee at an awkward angle. McMillan walked off the field on his own power without a noticeable limp. He was originally only downgraded to questionable to return, but as the night went on, rumors began to swirl.

Initially reported by Luis Zabala and confirmed by Andy Slater, the Dolphins believe McMillan has torn his ACL. McMillan was expected to start at middle linebacker. The Dolphins may have to dip into free agency or test the trade market if the reports of his injury are true. Dolphins fans everywhere are holding their collective breath, hoping the training staff’s fears are untrue.
