The Jets reportedly claimed the former second-round pick only one day after he was cut from the Patriots.
Ealy will now play alongside his cousin, defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson, which could help the newly acquired pass rusher settle in a bit quicker.
Back in 2015, during his tenure with Carolina, Ealy shined in the Super Bowl, where he logged an interception and three sacks. That ultimately led to a deal with New England last year, where he didn’t quite make the same impact.
New England failed to find a suitable trade partner for Ealy during the past few days, which led to his release on Saturday.
To create room for Ealy, the Jets reportedly waived DL, Anthony Johnson, according to Rich Cimini.
Todd Bowles likely sees potential in the pass rusher, who could quite possibly blend well with the young and versatile defensive team.
