Blake Bortles can show the Jaguars what he’s worth in first three games

The Jaguars have tough opponents the first three weeks of the season, which could lead Blake Bortles to show what he is worth of being a starter.

The Jaguars improved as a team in the offseason, but now it’s time for results. Specifically from quarterback Blake Bortles who could be finding a new team next season if he doesn’t get the job done. With the Jaguars first three opponents being tough and physical teams, this can make Bortles either crumble or show that he can lead the Jags.

Jacksonville will take on the Texans, Titans and Ravens in their first three weeks. These three teams will challenge the Jags team and it could be long games for Bortles. If Bortles can win at least two games out of these three, he may very show that the team made the right choice to pick him as the starter.

Week 1: @ Houston Texans

The first game for the Jags is against the division champion of the last two years who could see regression this year. The Texans are getting J.J. Watt back on the defense, but he’s coming off a major back injury. Bortles can show off his arm by taking advantage of the weak Houston secondary as long as Watt doesn’t get to him the entire game.

Week 2: Tennessee Titans

Back to back games for the Jags against division rivals, and this game they will go up against an uprising Titans offense but the defense still lacks in certain areas. This game is more than likely to be a high scoring game with talented players on the offensive side of the ball. Bortles has strong receivers who are facing a weak secondary. This is a perfect opportunity for Bortles to succeed.

Week 3: Baltimore Ravens

The Jaguars will have a hard task on their hands with the Ravens. The Ravens don’t necessarily have a star player on their team but everyone of their players play physical and tough. I can see this game going one of two ways, either a defensive game that makes both offenses’ work harder or Bortles utilizing his weapons around him and take advantage of a weaker defense.
