Colts’ franchise QB Andrew Luck was taken off the PUP list literally seconds before being forced to miss the first 6 games of the season. Sources still say that Luck will miss at least week 1, possibly more. Later that same day, September 2nd, the Colts traded former first round draft pick Philip Dorsett for 2nd year player Jacoby Brissett who in his last preseason game had a 28/39 completion/attempt ratio, throwing for 341 yards and 4 touchdowns with only one interception.
On September 3rd around 2:00 pm, the Colts released fan favorite back up QB Steven Morris. Colts fans hoped he would make the practice squad but former 4th string quarterback Philip Walker took the spot. While Luck is out for week 1, Scott Tolzien will be starting while Brissett is learning the playbook. Once Brissett knows the playbook, most fans hope that the Colts start him over Tolzien, including myself. Everyone hopes Luck has been secretly throwing the ball around so that he’s able to play week 2. In the event that he hasn’t been, which is most likely, we wonder if Brissett will be ready and that he knows all the plays. Tolzien is a decent QB, some say worst back up in the league, but he has the ability to lead teams to wins like he was don’t in the past, especially with the already established chemistry and playbook knowledge.
