Watching sports can be tricky. Whether you’re a cord cutter, maintain a cable or satellite subscription, opt for streaming, or use a combination of methods, it’s often a confusing landscape. But there are plenty of ways to watch your favorite team play. Here’s everywhere you can watch the Philadelphia Eagles play in 2017!

What networks carry NFL games in 2017?

There are two main landscapes for channels that carry NFL games: over-the-air (OTA) and over-the-top (OTT). Whereas OTA channels are freely available with a compatible TV antenna, OTT options are premium and require paid access.

Watching the Eagles play over-the-air (OTA)

On OTA networks, NFL games are broadcast on Fox, NBC, and CBS. These may both be watched freely and legally using an OTA antenna. Alternately, many are available online using services such as USTVNow.

But aside from Sunday Night Football, most games on regional channels will give priority to local NFL teams. So if you’re an Eagles fan in a different market, your options are limited.

Watching the Eagles play using over-the-top services

The other main source of NFL coverage is OTT, or over-the-top. Instead of free availability, these channels require paid access. NFL games are broadcast on OTT channels such as ESPN and its affiliates, as well as the NFL Network, and NFL Sunday Ticket package holders.

For OTA networks, all you need is an OTA antenna. Or, you may use a service such as USTVNow to legally watch the Philadelphia Eagles play online.

Cable alternatives

OTT providers offer plenty of choices. The main options for streaming NFL games online generally carry ESPN and its affiliates. But for local channels, it varies.

Local channels are another story. Even if you subscribe to a streaming provider like PS Vue, Hulu TV, or Sling TV, an antenna may be a best bet. That’s because local channels are really odd on paid streaming services. YouTube TV for instance features all four major broadcast networks, but that’s only available in five markets. Though DirecTV now is in 40 markets with local broadcast channels, not every market has each broadcast network. Similarly, SLing TV has local ABC, Fox, and NBC in several markets. PS Vue is primarily network-owned channels, but does include CBS local stations for 50% of its market.

NFL Sunday Ticket

Although its satellite package iteration is best-known, there’s a streaming version of NFL Sunday Ticket. This is a fantastic option for watching NFL games online. But there are a few major catches. Notably, this is only available to subscribers outside of DirecTV coverage. So anyone in an apartment, condo, townhouse, or even some residential areas where a satellite installation isn’t possible may benefit.

However, that’s not it. You’ll only have access to out-of-market games. As such, it’s only beneficial if you’re not rooting for the home team.

NFL Game Pass

Likewise, NFL Game Pass includes every game of the season, with a huge downside. While preseason games are live, you’re limited to game replays for regular season games. There are other perks too, like NFL film archives. But it’s only a good option for those who are fine watching games on a delay.

Where to watch the Eagles play in 2017: Final thoughts

There’s no shortage of options for watching the Eagles play in 2017. Whether you plan to stream, use an OTA antenna, or subscribe to a traditional satellite or cable provider, it’s totally feasible to watch the Eagles play.
