Thankfully week two is already here. Like almost everyone I had a high draft choice offensive stud fall flat on their fantasy face in week one but my defense helped me through. Here are my top 20 defenses ranked for the upcoming week.

Rank Team Comments
Baltimore Ravens Suffocated Cincinnati last week. Ravens have been a top 7 defense in 4 of the last 6 games against the Browns.
Seattle Seahawks The Seahawks have won 7 straight in this series. Only surrendering over 20 points in one of those games. This Seahawk defense will feast against the 49ers.
Carolina Panthers 4 sacks and 3 turnovers last week. They welcome a Buffalo team that had its passing game held below league average fantasy points by the Jets.
Oakland Raiders Oakland held a good Titans offense to 16 points last week in Tennessee. Look for a dominating performance against the Jets at home.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers The Bears offense lost Kevin White for the season Sunday.  Yes, they have to throw it to someone but that someone has to get separation and catch it.
Tennessee Titans The Allen Robinson-less Jaguars want to run the ball more than ever. The Titans were the 4th best stopping the run last year.
Arizona Cardinals On the road for the second week in a row this one will be a defensive battle, with the Cardinals winning. Jacoby Brissett is a wild card for the Colts if he plays.
Cleveland Browns Danny Woodhead is out with a hamstring injury. The Browns played well against the Steelers offense and that should continue this week.
Denver Broncos They will look to turn the Cowboys over and put pressure on Prescott. Neither one is easy to do. The Broncos drop a little this week despite playing at home.
Cincinnati Bengals The offense looked awful but the Bengals defense played pretty well. They will get first-time starter Deshaun Watson and the Texans.
Los Angeles Chargers Turned Denver over multiple times. This opportunistic group will look to take advantage of Jay Cutlers 1st game as the Dolphins quarterback.
Dallas Cowboys Controlled the Beckham-less Giants offense throughout the game. Will take run away to make the Broncos one dimensional.
Kansas City Chiefs Great performance in holding the Patriots offense in check. Will have to overcome the loss of all world safety Eric Berry.
Los Angeles Rams Terrific last week and they get Aaron Donald back this week. Washington couldn’t run on the Eagles and won’t run on the Rams this week.
Pittsburgh Steelers The Vikings line gave Bradford time to throw and he finished 3rd in scoring among quarterbacks. “Blitzburgh” will have to get to the quarterback to be successful.
Jacksonville Jaguars The Jaguars defense is improved but Marcus Maritoa historically puts up big numbers on them. The offense must control the time of possession.
Minnesota Vikings The Vikings were 13th against the high-powered Saints offense but now face a balanced Steelers offense on the road. Expect a heavy dose of Le’Veon Bell.
Philadelphia Eagles The Eagles sacked Kirk Cousins 4 times and collected 5 turnovers including a fumble recovery for a touchdown.  They need to repeat against Kansas City.
New York Giants The defense only gave up 19 points to the Cowboys on the road. The Offense just has to score more than 3 points to give these guys some rest.
Green Bay Packers The Defense played well against Seattle but Atlanta is an entirely different animal.
