It was a very low scoring game as both teams only made field goals. Cam Newton showed the Buffalo Bills the mobile quarterback that he is as he ran out of the pocket and rushed for 27 yards after 5 carries. He was looking very good in the first half with his passing but in the second half the Panthers offense slowed down a bit. Newton threw for 228 yards completing 20 out of 32 passes. The Bills defense did not do their best job from keeping the Panthers out of the red zone but they did stop Carolina from scoring touchdowns. Jonathan Stewart beat Christian McCaffrey in the run game as he ran for 40 yards on 15 carries. While McCaffrey had only 10 yards on 8 carries.

In this game we got to see Kelvin Benjamin improve with his receptions from Newton. Benjamin had 7 receptions for 77 yards and he really shined for the Panthers offense! Devin Funchess also decided to play hard today as he had 4 receptions for 68 yards. If Carolina can get the two wide receivers to continue playing like they did against the Bills then the passing from Cam Newton will be unstoppable! Unfortunately the star tight end Greg Olsen broke his foot during the first half of the game. We do not know how long he will be out until the doctors tell him tomorrow. It is a loss for the Panthers but they still have a great offense to keep them undefeated.

Even though the Panthers offense could not score any touchdowns during week two the defense was there to make the stance! The 2017 Carolina Panthers defense is the best defense in the NFL! They allowed the 49ers and Bills to only score 3 points in each game and that is just amazing. Julius Peppers was the main star for the defense because he managed to get two sacks for large losses of yards. Peppers is 37 but he is playing like a 20 year old and he still has a lot of gas left in the tank.

After this quick short scoring game we can come to a conclusion that the Panthers defense is what will make the Panthers go a long way this season. If the defense will not let other offenses score then Carolina does not have to worry that much about scoring many points but just enough to get the win. This Panthers team can win a Super Bowl this year because it is one of the best defenses that the Carolina Panthers ever had. Maybe even better than in 2015?! The 2-0 Panthers will play the 0-2 Saints in Charlotte next weekend and it should be a great game. We will see if the Panthers defense will continue to dominate and go 3-0 before they travel to New England in week 4! Keep Pounding!!
