The Miami Dolphins travel to jolly old London this week to take on the New Orleans Saints. This seems to be an annual trip for the Dolphins and this year it irritates Dolphins fans a little more than normal thanks to the schedule changes caused by Hurricane Irma.

The Miami Dolphins had a much larger injury list this than last week. However, I have some good news to start with. Both Jay Ajayi and Rey Maualuga both fully participated on Thursday despite being on the injury report earlier in the week. This means we have more depth at the much needed linebacker position as well as having our work-horse on offense available for the trip across the pond. Below are the players who showed up on the injury report as Thursday ended.

Chase Allen (Neck) – This would be a much bigger deal if Maualuga had not practiced this week. Allen is a nice depth player for this team and shows flashes of why the Dolphins picked him up. As far as a deciding factor for Sunday this injury should not be.

Kiko Alonso (Shoulder) – This one hurts a lot for this team. The sting is worn off a bit as both John Kuhn and Adrian Peterson showed up on the injury report Thursday. However, Alonso is the Dolphins’ top linebacker at this point and we have to hope he will be ready for Sunday.

Jakeem Grant (Ankle) – A speedster with a bum ankle is never a good thing. This could hurt the return game. However, we do have Kenyan Drake available as well there.

Kenny Stills (Hand) – A guy who catches the ball with a bum hand is never a good thing. As I said above, when you take away the most important part of a player’s game you hope someone is behind him. Luckily for us, the wide receiver position may be the deepest on the team.

Jordan Phillips (Ankle) – Phillips made a big move from non-participant to limited on Thursday which is nice. When Phillips plays well it shows on the field however he tends to be very hot and cold. It would be nice if the Dolphins were available to rotate lineman in against Drew Brees.

Isaac Asiata (Ankle) – Was added to the injury report on Sunday and this could be a big injury if anyone goes down on Sunday. The offensive line is very thin with depth so everyone is needed.

Alterraun Verner (Hamstring) – Also added on Thursday and is big for depth at a weak position. In my opinion the Dolphins need all the help we have at the cornerback positions, especially against Drew Brees.

Finally, Mike Pouncey missed practice. However, it was in line with his one day on one day off program. Overall, there are injuries that shouldn’t prevent the Dolphins from playing a very competitive game against the Saints. I expect that this will come down to how well the Dolphins can tighten up on the back end of the defense.
